  • Remarkable buildings, restored in the 90s. A very interesting and informative visit, in the heart of the Moorish massif. Before or after your visit, I highly recommend lunch or dinner at the restaurant La Farigoulette, in the very pretty village of Collobrières: the welcome is very friendly, the dishes are homemade and are a treat, and the value for money is Very well. Remember to book!

  • Narrow access for more than 10 km. Departmental with an announced width of 8 m which makes no more than 4.5. Cross-referencing other vehicles possible, at a very moderate pace. The last 700 metres leading to the building are pedestrianised, but a waiver is granted to people with reduced mobility. The buildings themselves do not have any special layout for these same people!? The scenery is beautiful. This is not too surprising when it comes to a convent or monastery built in the Middle Ages. It is quite clear that access to the public was essentially intended as a source of income for the community, without the resulting market research being the subject of a proper market study. A discovery circuit has certainly been set up. A shop of objects produced by monks and nuns offers icons and other pottery of earthenware. Ok. A photo gallery details the restoration work of the place, with a mock-up and video running in a loop... but we regret the absence of an individual guide or audio support that, during the visit, would evoke the rich past of these places. We also regret the absence of the discovery of the handicrafts proposed (icons, sculpture, earthenware) even if these arts would have been presented to us by craftsmen not bound by vows of silence. In short, we come back delighted by the landscapes and old stones but disappointed with the level of activity proposed. The site managers would benefit greatly from reviewing the copy.
