Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Ezulwini

4.0
#1 of 13 in Parks in Eswatini (Swaziland)
At Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, explore the landscape of grassland plains, native trees, wetlands, and green hills inhabited with a variety of game and wild beasts. The name of the sanctuary translates to "little fires," referring to fires caused by lightning strikes typical for the area, which then lead to the park's mission of becoming Swaziland's first conservation area. A guided nature trail takes you through the unspoiled northern section, or you can horseback ride among zebras and antelopes. Visit an authentic Swazi village for a piece of the local culture. Amenities include a swimming pool and a restaurant overlooking a picturesque pond occupied by hippos and crocodiles. Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Ezulwini Edition.

  • This Sunrise walking Safari is a pure bliss... This reserve of animals (non-predators... Fortunately!) is a protected sanctuary surrounded by majestic mountains and Savannah meadows where groups of animals have been observed (zebras, Impalas, Gus,...) coming out of the morning mist...

  • Enjoyed the experience in the little bee hive huts. Quite warm inside but then again you don't spend much time inside. Was quite an experience Ill recommend for people looking for something out of the ordinary to spend a night or two. It's not a luxury experience but was definitely fun, with everything you need.
  • Nice place to walk or bike, even drive around. Not tons of animals, but you will get to see some good wildlife. Lots of crocodiles. Enjoy!
