Sahara Desert, New Valley Governorate

#2 of 11 in Things to do in New Valley Governorate
Although one of the harshest parts of the globe, Sahara Desert provides an ideal playground for anyone interested in riding camels or quad bikes over rugged trails while taking in the views of endless sand dunes. When you get tired of your exertions, stop for a cup of traditional Egyptian tea at a Bedouin village and watch belly dancers and dervishes whirling. Ask your guide to tell you more about the history of the Bedouin people and their nomadic way of life in this desert. Be sure to spend at least one night gazing at the starry sky and learning how to tell the North Star, essential for finding your way in this barren landscape. Put Sahara Desert on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our New Valley Governorate day trip planning app .

  • A desert filled with history and with multiple facets, in accordance with the area exploited. I've been in the desert of Egypt. Logical that some areas are explored turísticamente, mainly on the banks of the River Nile.
