Dedicated to the life and work of one of the city's most celebrated authors, Franz Kafka Muzeum contains a large collection of Kafka's private letters and photographs. Although Kafka wrote in German, the city of Prague remained the heart of his personal and professional world. The museum explores the relationship between the city and the writer, providing a glimpse into Kafka's universe of literary characters tortured by personal alienation, physical brutality, and cold-hearted bureaucracy. Take a look at the displays featuring first editions of Kafka's major works, as well as his personal diaries, drawings, and manuscripts. Pick up Kafka's complete works at the on-site shop. Put Franz Kafka Muzeum into our Prague day trip planning tool to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Prague.

Franz Kafka Muzeum Reviews
Abbiamo girato Praga alla ricerca delle opere di Cerny. Questa non è una di quelle che mi è piaciuta particolarmente. Da vedere se ci trova da quelle parti andarci apposta direi di no. more »We toured Prague in search of Cerny's works. This is not one of those I particularly liked. To see if he finds us there on purpose, I'd say no.
Szczerze mówiąc spodziewałem się więcej po muzeum. Jest tam niesamowicie gorąco i duszno, dodatkowo sama „wystawa” nie robi zbyt wielkiego wrażenia. more »Frankly I expected more after the museum. It is incredibly hot and stifly, and in addition, the "exhibition" does not make a great impression.
This is a really nice museum. Everything is beautifully done, it reflects the aesthetic of his writings, his books, his work as lawyer and it focuses also on his personal life. Letters, videos, etc. The gift shop is also very nice and tasteful! I really enjoyed being here! :D
The atmosphere inside is great, it's very dark and in every corner you can hear different music which suits to the text in the showcase. It would be better for the German visitors if there were German labels as well, there are only English and Czech labels. It's exhausting to read the original text in German and then switch to english every time. Altogether, I would recommend this museum.
