Johnny Cay, San Andres Island

Take a guided boat trip to Johnny Cay and enjoy luxury on a tropical island paradise. The small coral islet has a reputation for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia, with hundreds of tourists coming to appreciate the nature. Enjoy delicious local-style fish specialties, and wash them down with a couple of pina coladas, but be prepared for significantly higher prices than on the mainland. The boat ride to and from the island can be bumpy depending on the weather. • I'll be somewhat of a counter to what most wrote here, but probably because I went in low season-I paid COP 35 to go to Jonny Cay, Acuario, Mantaraia and Manglares. Be VERY attentive to this, because there are places that charge COP 90 for the SAME ride. As I am already a tourist calejada, I struck until I find an agency with more fair prices (I did with Maria Tours). Detail: Look for this tour at the end of the day to go on the morning of the next day and see how much the price drops. -The islands were very quiet of tourists and far from the stocking. Absolutely no walking. Is the food expensive? Yes, of course, just like every tourist place where there is only one food option, but then it's just not buying or even taking some snacks. I personally even felt hungry size the heat RS I stayed more in the drinks, which are not expensive compared to Cartagena-bathrooms are paid (COP1000) but I think it's great. It prevents people from using it to bathe in the sink (!!!). It is worth remembering that it is a small island and that all care with nature is due. Overall, it is worth the ride. On the way back, the boats stop so tourists can TORMENT (yes, this is the best word that describes what I saw) streaks and starfish. The animals suffering to serve entertainment and the tourists dazzled pretending that they do not know the horror that is this:(

  • Incredible island with the typical Caribbean (heavenly waters and white sand), the bad.. the day we went there was strong swell and many visitors. In the reserve you can find many iguanas that are super friendly... if you go to St. Andrew's. a benchmark to know. The, island of Jhony Cay
