  • The Temple was built in 1873 and is listed as a Grade II-listed historic building in Hong Kong. Fishermen who live on the sea are all godofs of the sea. The temple is divided into three temples, which serve The Queen, Lu Zu and Guanyin. Inside, there are inscriptions, frescoes, woodcuts and ceramic ornaments. Near the door, with more than a hundred years of ancient bells and drums.

  • This is a small Tin Hau Temple which can be visited in route to the excellent Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence in Shau Kei Wan. Built in 1873 by local fisherman, this is one of many Tin Hau Temples scattered around Hong Kong. Tin Hau is a patron deity for fishing and seafaring villages and is actively worshipped by the people in the Guangdong Province, hence the high density of temples dedications in this part of China. Historically, This Tin Hau Temple was destroyed shortly after being built by a massive typhoon. Local villagers believed that Tin Hau had sacrificed herself to protect and save the local people so they immediately set to rebuiling the temple in her honour. This is what you find today when visiting this Tin Hau Temple. Here you can see a typical Tin Hau Temple with main hall and side halls, lined deity structures and shrines for worship. You can also find the expected plaster murals, carvings and wall paintings, lots of incense burning and a peaceful environment. In the end, this is not a priority temple but is worth a quick visit if you are on your way to the Museum of Coastal Defences and can be conveniently seen in 10-15 minutes. Hint: You can find this Tin Hau Temple by making your way in the direction of the Museum of Coastal Defences (Exit B1). Just around around 3-4 minutes along the main street and your find the Tin Hau Temple in Shau Kei Wan.
  • A small temple with very details and beautiful decoration on rooftop. It's historical temple, just 3minutes walk from shau Kei Wan MTR to there.
