  • The temple is located just off Po Tung Road in Sai Kung Village. It is a Grade 3 historical building in Hong Kong. Interestingly, it is actually two temples, one dedicated to Tin Hau and the the other...  more »
  • The West Shrine is located near the Seafood Street, a century old temple. It is a shrine to the Linmer, which is also the former local government arbitration and Education centre. Temple memory has a lot of old-fashioned things that are worth watching.

  • The Tin Hau Temple found in Sai Kung in the old town and is dedicated to the Goddess of the sea. In Hong Kong, there are over 70 Tin Hau temples. This particular Tin Hau temple is quite typical of others in the city in regard to what you can expect to see in and around the temple grounds. However, it is more attractive and photogenic due to having been restored in recent years. This has resulted in the temple being quite polished, decorative and bright in colors, a chance to see what our other Tin Hau Temples might have looked like when they were first built. We enjoy this particular Tin Hau Temple for its attractive appearance but also because of its very good location in the old town of Sai Kung, a lovely seaside community to visit. For those planning to visit Sai Kung, a visit to this Tin Hau Temple is quite easy to include. In addition to visiting this temple, visitors might enjoy taking a hike in the nearby Sai Kung country parks, enjoying fresh (can be pricey) seafood on the Sai Kung promenade or hiring junk boat to one of the small outer islands.
  • One of the better Tin Hau Temples that I've visited in HK. Has one half devoted to the crimson-faced Guan Yu.
