HSBC Main Building, Hong Kong

#128 of 1,191 in Things to do in Hong Kong
Admire the historical details of HSBC Main Building, designed by British architect Sir Norman Foster and the most expensive building in the world at the time of its completion in 1985. As you approach, you'll see two bronze lions, Stephen and Stitt, which guard the entrance to the bank. Preserved from an earlier version of this building, they still bear shrapnel holes from the Japanese attack on British Hong Kong in World War II and even feature on the Hong Kong dollar banknotes. Enter the building, which is open to the public, to admire its precise and modern design, Feng Shui-influenced style, and the natural sunlight filtering through the glass windows. • I've been through trams many times before this, but I've never heard of being able to get through. I went through here to St. John's Church. On the other side was a different lion statue. On Sundays, many Filipino maids gather to chat and eat.

  • It's very cool to be very good at doing so. It is designed to solve and rebuild in a short time. because they don't trust the Chinese communists. They're going to move all the things to the other place.

  • Some of my worst banking experiences ever have been in this building. The infrastructure in HSBC is worse than anything, and I have had more issues than can be counted. After switching to standard chartered bank, where I have a relationship manager on WhatsApp rather than having to sit and listen to HSBC music, I've realized my life would have been much better had I not used HSBC
  • Horrible service. If you have any other choice use another bank!!! Really you will wish you did. My overseas payments was shutdown with no communication. They said they needed a document. I sent it. They said it takes 3 weeks to receive a document and scan it then. They say it need notarized. Every phone call is a dead end. Do yourself a favor bank somewhere that still treats you like a human.
