Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver
Not just for skiing and soaking up the views, Grouse Mountain serves as a major year-round playground for both tourists and locals. Known as the "Peak of Vancouver," this mountaintop recreational area offers plenty of chances to hike, zipline, paraglide, and attend or take part in lumberjack events. Access the summit via a scenic chairlift ride or by hiking up a network of rustic trails. Other year-round attractions include a mountaintop wildlife refuge and theater. Grouse Mountain Reviews
In the summer, Grouse Mountain has 5 zip-lines available of various lengths and inclines. Our group of 5 went with two exceptional guides, (Matt and Mac) and had a great time over about 3 hours. The g... more »
Loved the mountain. The cafe and information centre was brilliant. A few vegan options and a large information board on the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics. Our highlight was getting a self with the gr... more »
This mountain is spectacular. As a prairie girl, I can say that this was definitely one of the first mountains I experienced in more ways then just driving past. You can easily get to the base of the mountain via public transit and there is paid parking if you have driven as weĺl. The Gondola ride is a bit spooky although I am afraid of heights. Once on the top you forget that you're so high up. I find that most people aren't so amazed by the natural beauty here. As someone who didn't grow up around mountains I would definitely recommend this place to any visitor's. I have been there twice, it is very easy to spend a whole day here. You can go snowboarding, skiing or just take a general ride up and walk around, rent snow shoes, go sledding, ride this huge sleigh or go "skating". The ice rink is small but I can see its appeal if you're not used to it. There is a canteen with good food, a fancier restaurant that serves comfort food and several gift shops. All in all I would definitely recommend and I always take my visitors there!
Great little mountain just outside Vancouver BC. Get your season pass early and save big. Great place to bring the whole family. They have sledding and ice-skating rink. During the holidays they have gingerbread house building and other fun activities. The night skiing is one of my favorites. Make sure to pick up a parking pass as well. You can get them for one or two year period. That way you don’t have to worry about paying for parking each time you visit. Rentals are up on the top of the hill and can suite the whole family if you don’t bring your own gear. Guest services can answer all your questions. But be warned that the line can be very long on the weekends or holidays. My suggestion is to go during the week
