Columbia Icefield Skywalk, Jasper

4.2
The remnant of a vast glacier that once covered the region, Columbia Icefield Skywalk takes the crown as the largest of its kind in the area. Surrounded by some of the park’s highest peaks, the expansive ice field feeds numerous rivers with its meltwater, including the Columbia and Fraser rivers in the western part of North America. Head for the ice field’s visitor center to learn more about the process of glacier formation and movement; from there, you can explore the only accessible part of the ice field, which reaches a thickness of 350 m (1,148 ft) in places. Be sure to bring your camera, as you’ll get a sweeping view of the mountains around you, nine of which stand at a height of more than 3,000 m (9,852 ft). • So informative and well organised perhaps a little expensive but worth it. Food in restaurant very expensive but well organised considering the number of visitors  more »
  • Well worth the trip. Its white white and spectacular to view. If sun glasses are a must, high heals are a no no. The overall trip was a little shorter than expected- maybe the ice was melting.  more »

  • Highly recommend this! You ca get the tickets in Ice fields parkway. This place is awesome. They provide radios to explain about glaciers and surrounding areas. The View was amazing.Perfect place to let the fear in our mind go off. For people who don't want to walk in the glass bridge there is a separate route ,where they can stand and enjoy the View. Loved the experience!
  • I think the view you get is nice, and the glass floor is cool, and the company running it does a great job in being efficient and friendly. But I think it is pricey for what it is. If you are limited on time, I would suggest cutting this out of your itinerary. In my opinion, the tour of the Columbia ice fields is much better; it is longer, worth the cost, and a unique experience.
