Ranch de Nazinga, Ouagadougou
Set up in the 1970s by two Canadian brothers, Ranch de Nazinga encompasses 97,000 hectares (239,692 acres) and shelters over 20,000 animals, including monkeys, antelopes, warthogs, crocodiles, and 275 species of birds. Despite this stunning variety in wildlife, elephants remain the reserve's top attraction. Safari rides through the protected area provide the best opportunities to spot the many creatures calling this place home. You can see different types of animals including: elephants, antelope (various species), buffalo (rarely), warmongers, monkeys (baboons), crocodiles, porcupines, eagles, vultures, owls, squirrels, jackals (very rare), several birds. There are no giraffes, no lions or big cats or hippos, to see them is better to go to Ghana where there are both giraffes and hippos. The animals can be seen in the morning and at dusk. I think two exits are enough. Ask the guide to take you to the top of a hill from which you can see a breathtaking panorama. While you make the journey passed by Tiébélé (elongated of about 60 km) to admire the houses of the culture Kassena (very interesting) flaws:-Quite expensive, in addition to renting the car to go to Nazinga (by public transport is possible to PO), you have to Rent a car with guide to go see the animals (the initial request, for each exit, is about 50,000 CFA, to be treated), in addition you have to pay the entrance in the park and visits. If it is travelers who share costs the whole is quite sustainable, in the case of families with children starts to become challenging. There are two hotels with rooms, one with more characteristic constructions, without air conditioning but with the swimming pool; The other with normal constructions but with the air conditioning. But the electricity comes only after 18.00 (I did not understand what time is interrupted, I think about 24.00) and, at least in our case, the air conditioner was not working because the electricity was not enough. Also in the hotel near (the one from the most characteristic houses) was working all night a diesel generator that genuinely disturbed sleep (in any case bearable for a couple of nights). In such a bucolic environment it's a real shame. Meals are definitely expensive, for example a breakfast costs 3000 CFA per person (about 4.5 euros), while a lunch/dinner costs about 4600 CFA per person (about 7 euros) drinking water.

It was a great experience! We got there Jan-10, 2019 at around 3pm, paid for 2 tours, one for that afternoon and the second for the next morning. We were satisfied with the first tour so we decided to go see the surroundings instead (went up the hill and visited a nearby village ). They don't have vehicles there if you just show up. So you have to make that arrangement before you get there. We used our own vehicle, but they too have people they can contact for you to rent vehicles. We saw the elephants and other species. The sky was pretty at night because it is so dark. We had power for 4 hours only, 6 PM to 10 PM, as we were told on arrival. That made it even more awesome! Real camping, if you know what I mean. Too bad my woman was too scared to stay out and enjoy the stars. The sounds of the whild life could be heard all night. The road was safe from Ouagadougou to Nazinga. Nothing to worry about.
Nice guide, interesting to watch several species of animals and trees
